Student Handbook

Ferron Elementary is made up of an administrator, secretary, eleven full-time and one part-time elementary education teachers, eight educational assistants, two custodial staff members, two nutrition specialists, one computer specialist, and one Title I certified teacher. We also have two half day special education teachers with two assistants, speech pathologists, a preschool director, and six preschool teachers’ assistants. We currently have two hundred and seventy three students. Our school population is highly transient because of the changing economic struggles associated with this area.

We have an all day kindergarten class and two Kindergarten sessions, one first grade, two second grades, two third grades, two fourth grades, one fifth grade, and one sixth grade class. Our Resource Teacher, Title I Specialist, and paraprofessionals give added class assistance to those students who have been identified as requiring special assistance. Those students who do not qualify for special education services are served by the Title I program. We have integrated a peer-tutoring program for 1st through 4th grade students.
